Centers Based Learning
The key to any class showing a tremendous amount of growth is to meet students where they are through differentiation. A flexible learning classroom is an easy way for a teacher to provide an environment of differentiation. This can be achieved in many ways. If it seems daunting and overwhelming, it is always good to start small.
I always think it is a good idea to start in the area that you feel most comfortable and where you see the biggest need is for your day. If you have a high needs classroom, small group math or menu reading centers may give you that time you desperately need. If you see that you kids need more choice in where they are working, flexible seating may be where you want to start.
You need to start where you feel like you can have a positive change right away!
